On April 14, Arcadia University’s Math and Computer Science department welcomed back Actuarial Science alumni to campus for a panel discussion with current students. The panel, which featured William Buhring ‘19, Carlie Banchi ’20,  Kelsey Mashinski ‘21, and Jacob Walsh ’21, covered a variety of topics during their time in the Grey Tower Castle Laura Minerva Korman Mirror Room, including their transition from a graduating Arcadia student into the full-time workforce, how they are handling their current workload, and any advice they had to offer to the room of Actuarial Science majors. Following their discussion, the panelists opened the floor for a question and answer session, providing current students with an opportunity to gain insight on what to expect following graduation.

Since the creation of the Actuarial Science major in 2013, Arcadia’s program has developed into one of Pennsylvania’s best over the course of the past nine years, having been cited in numerous college ranking publications as one of the top choices in the Commonwealth. Nearly 100% of Arcadia students who graduate with a degree in Actuarial Science landed positions in the field following graduation, while students achieved an 80% pass rate for the Probability and Financial Mathematics exam for 2020.
