Nydia Clark ’29 Feels She is on the Right Path

For Nydia Clark ’29, attending classes in person at Arcadia represents a new chapter in her life, especially after completing high school through an online program. The change to an in-person learning environment away from home wasn’t easy at first, but Clark, a Health Sciences major, is up for the challenge.
“That experience showed me how resilient I can be,” said Clark. “It made me realize that even through challenges and sacrifices, I am capable of accomplishing my goals.”
Clark chose Arcadia after attending a few Welcome Days.

“Something about the environment felt right—the people, the campus, the energy. It slowly started to click that maybe this was exactly where I was supposed to be all along,” Clark said. “It was like God was gently showing me that this was where He wanted me to be. So now, here I am, Arcadia University Class of 2029.
“I am now just adjusting to college life, getting involved in community events, and spending time with people who share similar goals.”
Staying busy with classes, as well as staying in touch with family, has helped Clark adjust.
“My grandma especially keeps me grounded. She always reminds me to pray and trust that God is watching over me,” she said. “Even when things get stressful, I stay focused and remind myself why I’m here—to grow and prepare for my future in nursing. Moments like doing well on an exam I studied hard for, or finding peace while listening to worship music, remind me that I’m exactly where God wants me to be.”
Coming to Arcadia University continues to feel right for Clark. With her can-do attitude, she has the first semester almost under her belt.
“I’d just like to say that I’m really thankful for every opportunity I’ve been given here. I’m still learning, still growing—becoming more independent, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, and learning new things not just in the classroom but about myself too.”
