Students at the Global Pathways Institute prepare for the upcoming school year.

On Aug. 19, a group of eager students began their college careers as part of the inaugural cohort at the Global Pathways Institute (GPI) in Mumbai.

At Orientation two days earlier, 13 students and their families were welcomed to GPI and Arcadia. Dean Usha Palaniswamy, who was appointed in August, greeted the cohort before they explored the neighborhood around the institute, got to know one another, and were introduced to advisers, educational technology, and campus resources.

“It was great to see how excited the students and their families were,” said Usri Mahapatra, lead adviser at GPI. “We are all looking forward to the start of the school year.”

Arcadia announced the partnership with GPI last December. Through the alliance, GPI will deliver a two-year program of Arcadia undergraduate courses. After one to two years in the program, students may continue their education at Arcadia (or other US universities).
