Knight to Know: Estefanía Martínez ’24, Volleyball Player, Returns From Selective NCAA Student Immersion Program

Estefanía Martínez ’24 has had quite a month of January. During winter break, she spent four days in San Antonio, Texas, for the 2023 NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program. A member of Arcadia’s women’s volleyball team, Martínez was among 40 ethnic minority NCAA Division III student-athletes with a strong interest in either coaching or administrative careers in Division III athletics who were selected.

“It was a very exciting opportunity,” Martínez said. “During the program, I was able to meet with different athletic directors and other faculty members from other institutions. In addition, I was able to attend events where I got the chance to meet [retired Notre Dame women’s basketball] Coach [Muffett] McGraw and [broadcaster] Jim Nantz.”

Why I Chose Arcadia: The campus is beautiful, and the team was very welcoming. 

Post-Grad Plans: Attend graduate school and work as a graduate assistant for the volleyball team of that institution.
