Knight to Know: Madison Costigan ’24

Major: English

Minor: Political Science

Extracurriculars: I’m part of the Honors program, co-editor-in-chief of The Compass, Arcadia’s scholarly journal, and a member of the softball team.

Favorite Arcadia Memory: When the softball team won a regional bid and hosted regionals my sophomore year.

Post-grad Plans/Goals: I am currently a freelance journalist for a nonprofit in Philadelphia and plan to stay in journalism after graduation.


At this year’s Honors Convocation, Costigan was awarded The Doris Fenton Award. “Madi is a gifted writer and thoughtful voice in every classroom,” said the faculty who nominated her. “She is also an outstanding member of the Arcadia community, serving as a Consultant in the Writing Center, the Editor-in-Chief of The Compass, a blogger for Because Arcadia, as well as being a member of the softball team.”
