Why did you choose your particular program at Arcadia?
I chose physical therapy because it allows me to help people achieve functional goals that they thought were impossible. I enjoy empowering patients to be in the driver’s seat of their rehab while helping them restore function, as well as confidence, joy, and a sense of self. Physical therapy allows me to spend quality time with patients for a longer period of time to actually get to know them and determine the best plan of care for their needs. I chose to pursue my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Arcadia because the faculty are deeply invested in every student’s success. I knew that their unique curriculum format would help me truly understand the material and prepare me to grow into a confident and skilled physical therapist.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date?
During my time at Arcadia, I have gained a strong foundation of knowledge and confidence as a future physical therapist, as well as mentors to guide me throughout my career. I have also grown as a leader while serving in leadership roles and attending conferences. Lastly, I was given the opportunity to participate in an international service learning opportunity to provide physical therapy to patients in Guatemala!
What are some of your hobbies?
Outside of class, I am the Secretary/ Faculty Liaison for the Student Physical Therapy Association, an Executive Board Member for the Pro Bono Clinic, and a Tutor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program for the hybrid pathway. Other hobbies that I enjoy include trying new foods at different restaurants, playing any type of sport, outdoor activities, and going for walks.
Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
I am interested in pursuing a career in sports physical therapy!
