Parmar, Lyons ’12 Appointed to Arcadia University Board of Trustees

Arcadia University has elected to its Board of Trustees Ashish Parmar, senior vice president and chief information officer of Tapestry, Inc., a New York-based house of global modern luxury lifestyle brands whose portfolio includes Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman; and Margaret Lyons, Continuous Certification program manager for the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a 2012 graduate of Arcadia. 

Parmar

Parmar (above, left) has more than two decades of leadership and technology experience in luxury retail, logistics, and consumer electronics. In this role, he leads the technology strategy, information security and technology operations globally. Parmar’s experience at Tapestry includes supporting the company’s digital transformation and multi-year growth agenda. He has a breadth of international experience in both technology and supply chain. In September, Parmar was named a finalist in the Global category of the NewYorkCIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards, to be announced in November. 

Parmar serves as Board of Directors of LL Flooring (Lumber Liquidators), one of North America’s leading specialty retailers of hard-surface flooring, with over 400 stores. He is a member of the New York CIO advisory board, Evanta New York CIO governing body, SAP Fashion Council, and Society of Information Management New Jersey. He served as director and country head of information technology with LF Logistics and is a graduate of Philips Electronics management development program for supply chain. 

Parmar holds a Master of Science, Management from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Bachelor of Science, Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University, and was recognized as Forbes 50 Innovative Technology Leaders in 2021.

Lyons

Lyons (above, right), who serves as a Recent Graduate Trustee, oversees continuous certification operations at American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS), ensuring goals are met and critical policies are communicated to senior-level management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. Prior to working for ABFAS, Lyons was a Certification Product Specialist at the Project Management Institute.

Since graduating from Arcadia University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Culture, Lyons has mentored Arcadia students for the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition. She also volunteered for the Resume Revival and Interviews with the Experts programs hosted by the Office of Career Education, which help students prepare to apply for internships and professional positions, and to go through the interview process.

Lyons also has worked with the Division of University Advancement as a class agent for the Class of 2012 five-year reunion in 2017, and for the 10-year reunion in 2022. She has served as Social Media Ambassador and co-host to the 2019 Center City Philadelphia event for UKnighted Tuesday and has served as a member on the Young Alumni Committee and Career and Mentorship Committee. Lyons also is a Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner.
