Arcadia University adjunct professor of the School of Global Business, F. Greg Lucado, received the Edgar C. Hayhow Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) for his published article, “Potential to Decrease Hospital Readmission Reduction Program Penalty Through Pharmacist Discharge Visits.” This annual award is granted to the authors of the year’s best article published in the Journal of Healthcare Management, the ACHE’s official journal.

Professor Lucardo, alongside others, published this article in the January/February 2022, Volume 67, No. 1 issue of the Journal of Healthcare Management. The goal for their research was to determine the degree to which the decrease in readmission penalties can rationalize the heightened operational expenses associated with incorporating a pharmacist into the provision of transitions of care services within the outpatient environment.
