Revamped e3 Canvas Communities Make Career Planning Easier Than Ever

Arcadia University’s Office of Career Education (OCE) has rolled out new e3 Action Plan Canvas communities, helping students explore, engage, and embark–represented by the e3 acronym–on their career paths in a more streamlined way.

“At the end of the spring 2025 semester, the original e3 program had nearly 6,500 students enrolled in one OCE Canvas community that had been open to all undergraduates since 2016,” explained Director of Career Education Dr. Cynthia Nichols, who was responsible for facilitating the e3 refresh. “However, several of those enrolled individuals had already graduated from Arcadia.”

The revamped e3 Action Plan reduces redundancy and improves navigation by replacing the previous single Canvas community with four individual e3 communities, each corresponding to a specific graduating class. Each community will then sunset at the end of the spring semester, corresponding with that class year’s graduation, and a new community will open in the following fall for the incoming class.

“The e3 course is now more user-friendly, which makes it much easier for them to navigate and complete e3,” continued Dr. Nichols. “Going forward, students who are interested in completing the e3 Action Plan will be prompted to enroll in the e3 course that specifically complements their year of graduation.”

Students can enroll through their Canvas dashboard by selecting Courses > All Courses > Browse More Courses and then joining the e3 community for their graduation year. Click here for more detailed instructions. Any questions can be directed to nicholsc@aradia.edu.
