I am the Landman Library's Collections and Technical Services Librarian, managing the library's online catalog and electronic resources, as well as interlibrary loan services. I'm also the library liaison to the School of Global Business and the departments of Psychology and Sociology, Anthropology, & Criminal Justice. I am also the interim liaison to the College of Health Sciences and the Forensic Science program.
I have been working in librarianship and information services for 24 years, working in academia and the private sector. My background includes science and humanities librarianship, technology management and training, teaching writing and gender studies, and managing small businesses. My professional focus is on helping library patrons navigate the information systems and technologies that surround us, always remembering that the machines are here to serve humans and not the other way around. I advocate for the use of affordable and accessible resources for students and researchers, including library-subscribed materials, Open Access (OA) materials, and Open Educational Resources (OERs). My research interests are the effects of library and educational technologies on marginalized and minoritized groups and how to remediate those disparities.
