Venture to Arcadia is a multi-day welcome extravaganza for new students, including interactive sessions and events that will help you acclimate to life at Arcadia, socialize and make friends, and get to know the community.

Venture to Arcadia This Fall

Fall Welcome Week is the traditional time period for all new first-year, transfer, and commuter students to become more familiar with campus, will be held August 25 - 28.

Welcome to the Knight Family!

There will be many events to enhance your connection to campus. We encourage you to select events in the schedule that fit your interests. In addition, there are several required programs for students during Fall Welcome Week that cover important topics about health and safety, diversity and inclusion, and the transition into the college environment.

Moving In

Fall Welcome Week festivities will begin with Move-In on Wednesday, Aug. 24. See below for your move-in times:

  • 8 - 10 a.m.: Students with last names A - H
  • 10 a.m - Noon: Students with last names I - R
  • Noon - 2 p.m.: Students with last names S - Z

When You Arrive to Move In

You can expect that campus will be bustling during your move-in day, but that doesn't mean it has to be stressful! Below is an example of what you can expect:

  • Arrive at the date and time frame assigned. If you have any issues with arriving during your assigned move-in, contact
  • When you arrive at campus, please enter through the Church Road Entrance (2041 Church Rd, Glenside PA 19038). Public safety will guide you to where to park and direct you how to get to the Commons Great Room. Please note: only 1 parent/guardian/guest can accompany you to the Great Room.
  • Due to the new surge in COVID cases, all new students will need to take a rapid test REGARDLESS of vaccination status. You and your guest will wait in the Great Room until your test results are ready (usually in 15-20 minutes).
  • After checking in and picking up your keys, you will move your vehicle to your residential hall location to move-in. Public safety will be on-hand to assist in guiding you to the appropriate location.
  • The Welcome Team will be available to assist you in moving your items into your room.
  • Label each box for move-in with name, hall, room number, and cell phone number.
  • After moving in, enjoy a meal with your guests at our Bye Bye Brunch in the Grey Towers Castle
  • Have fun and enjoy your new home at Arcadia!

Commuter and Non-Residential Students

Fall Welcome Week will consist of events for non-residential students to kick-off their Welcome Week Programming. Commuters and other non-residential students can check in on Thursday, Aug. 25 between 8 - 9:45 a.m. in the Grey Towers Castle.

  • When you arrive on campus, please use the Easton Road Entrance (450 S Easton Rd) and follow the signage to visitor parking. Public safety will be on hand to help guide you to the appropriate parking lot. 
  • Breakfast will be provided for you upon arrival, as well as meal vouchers for all meals served during Fall Welcome Week.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

  • 8 - 10 a.m.: Fall Welcome Week Registration and Move-in A-H
  • 10 a.m. - Noon: Fall Welcome Week Registration and Move-in I-R
  • 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Bye Bye Brunch
  • Noon - 2 p.m.: Fall Welcome Week Registration and Move-in S-Z
  • 5 - 5:30 p.m.: Residential Student Floor Meeting
  • 7 p.m. - Midnight: Various Campus Programming, including residential hall meetings, evening activities, and a movie on Haber Green

Thursday, Aug. 25

  • 8 - 9:45 a.m.: Commuters Check-in and Breakfast
  • 9:40 - 10 a.m.: Fall Welcome Week Kick-off
  • 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Welcome to Arcadia Academics, including summer reading discussion, major meetups, and academic breakout sessions
  • 3:40 - 5:30 p.m.: Class Meeting, Convocation, and Class Photo
  • 5:30 - 7 p.m.: Welcome Back Bash
  • 7 - 8 p.m.: Affinity Mixers for LatinX and Commuters
  • 9 - 11 p.m.: Drag Bingo

Friday, Aug. 26

  • 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.: Welcome to Arcadia Community
    • Sessions on the Knight Code of Honor, Social Justice and Diversity, and Student Wellness.
    • Preview of Preview, a 2-credit course with a travel component for first year and new transfer students - and even get a sneak peek at Preview locations via a scavenger hunt.
  • 7 - 8 p.m.: Affinity Mixers for Transfers and First Generation Students
  • 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.: Throwback Dance in the Castle

Saturday, Aug. 27

  • 9 - 11 a.m.: Brunch
  • 11 a.m. - Noon: First Amendment and Free Speech Rights
  • 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Community Service Project: Rise Against Hunger
  • 3:30 - 8 p.m.: Hangout on Haber Green
  • 4 - 6 p.m.: Welcome Black Picnic
  • 7 - 8 p.m.: Affinity Mixers for Students with Disabilities
  • 10 p.m. - Midnight: Night Glow Party, including golf, laser tag, bowling, and skating

Sunday, Aug. 28

  • 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Various campus activities and programming
  • Noon - 5 p.m.: Class Schedule Tour
  • 1 - 5 p.m.: Shuttles to Target and Grocery Store
  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm.: Affinity Mixer for AAPI and LGBTQIA+
  • 6 - 10 p.m.: Various evening activities
