Program

Past Participant ButtonThe core of each student's academic program is a six-credit seminar: History, Politics, and Diplomacy of France and Europe. The course will incorporate academic research projects and field study excursions that will take full advantage of many French, European, and international institutions discussed in the classroom.

A major component of the core course is the capstone project that will enable students to do research in many areas of current events in Paris and Europe. In addition to the mandatory French language study, the program offers electives in European and French international relations, politics, and government. View a list of the program's main courses.

For exceptional students with a demonstrated background in the appropriate academic areas, Arcadia is pleased to provide the opportunity to study at the graduate level and with graduate program students, by following selected graduate courses. Students will earn undergraduate credit for attending graduate classes and completing independent assignments and exams*.

*Please Note: Graduate courses are available only to spring and academic year students; fall-only students are not permitted to take graduate courses. One important component of these courses is the opportunity to develop an undergraduate research project in conjunction with the appropriate AGS faculty member and program director. There are only two undergraduate student placements per graduate class, so early application and discussion with your program manager are encouraged.
