Board members represent diverse perspectives on study abroad and come from a wide variety of colleges and universities. Their collective institutional experience as to: programs and services, curricular design, program assessment and evaluation, and knowledge of study abroad ethics and policies continually informs the strategic planning and program development of The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University. Annual visits to our program sites by Board members provide us with a very important assessment tool, while the written site visit reports offer a useful and independent program evaluation to study abroad advisors nationally.

The history of the Board is long and distinguished and reflects the changes in both the field of study abroad and the institutions which participate on our programs.  Today, the Board meets at least once a year at Arcadia University where issues that are critical to the success of our mission are presented for discussion.

Regular consultation between Board members and our staff provides a continual exchange of ideas and critique, alerting us to trends in study abroad, emerging issues and the changing needs of students. Board members' input enables us to better serve students, parents and home campuses and helps to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of quality and integrity. Learn more.

Board Terms

Board members serve without compensation or responsibility for our programs and are appointed as individuals, not as representatives of their institutions. They serve for a four-year term with the opportunity for re-appointment after a two-year hiatus.

We are indebted to the members of the National Advisory Board for their unselfish dedication and service throughout the years. Their commitment to quality and integrity in study abroad has enhanced every aspect of the work in which we are engaged.
