Program

Course offerings include a variety of studio art classes such as painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture amid the magnificent landscape of the Burren, an area that has long been an inspiration for artists of all genres because of its ethereal and intriguing beauty. In addition to traditional art courses, the College offers Insight on Site, a special program that encourages integration of various creative pursuits to broaden and advance artistic perception and methods. Past Participant ButtonIrish history and art history. Optional trips to galleries and museums in Dublin, London and Paris put your experience into the broader context of the art world and its global influences.

Among the many marvels of the Burren lies the village of Ballyvaughan, a lively little community where Arcadia program housing is based. Filled with quaint shops, musical pubs, and excellent restaurants, the residents of Ballyvaughan take pride in helping visitors appreciate the Burren’s unique environment through a wide variety of geological, archeological, and botanical workshops.

Credits

Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit:

  • Fall and spring semester: 15 credits.
  • Academic year: 30 credits. 

Admission Requirements

GPA Requirements: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.

To apply, you will need to submit a non-returnable portfolio of 12-15 color slides or a CD of recent work.
