In fact, the vibrant cultural heritage of the area will be a unique and impressive part of your academic and social experience at NUI, Galway.

Another attractive feature of NUI Galway is the academic calendar, which offers a full 12-week teaching semester in both the fall and the spring. You can expect to complete five or six courses per semester to equal a full-time course load.  

The picturesque campus is a mere 10-15 minute walk or ride from the center of Galway. Considered a university city, Galway provides an excellent backdrop for your study abroad experience. With its bookstores, pubs, shops, cafes, and restaurants Galway offers a treasure trove of history and culture. In fact, it has earned distinction as the "Cultural Capital of Ireland." Credits

Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit:

  • Fall and spring semester: 15 credits.
  • Academic year: 30 credits.  

Admission Requirements

GPA Requirements: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.
