Honors Program Cultural Events

Wilma Theatre

Honors students make the most of Arcadia’s close proximity to Philadelphia by attending cultural events along the Avenue of the Arts. Students have heard concerts by the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center and have seen provocative plays at the Wilma Theater.

  • Waiting for Godot, the Hungarian Folk Festival, Man of La Mancha and The Odd Couple.
  • The Perks Dance Music Theater—This modern dance troupe integrates a live band and athletic dance style into its presentations.
  • Those Irish Eyes Night at the Art Museum—a night filled with Irish art, film, food, music, and dancing.
  • Chaconne and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue —two dances created by one of America's leading choreographers, George Balanchine.
  • Love and Anger and Perfect Pie—award-winning plays at the Wilma Theater.
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens at the Walnut Street Theater.
  • As You Like It —one of Shakespeare's most delightful, love-laden comedies, at the Arden Theater.
  • Every Good Boy Deserves Favor—a unique Tom Stoppard and Andre Previn production at the Kimmel Center.
  • Macbeth —Verdi's opera performed by the Opera Company of Philadelphia at the Academy of Music.

Honors students have also gone to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra, had tours through the Philadelphia Art Museum, and seen classical ballet.
