Congratulations on being accepted into the MBA program. There is some important information you need to know before starting your academic journey at Arcadia University. The following is an orientation of the program that was presented on campus to the members of your cohort.

Students pursuing concentrations or certificates in Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Finance or Global Business Diplomacy must schedule an advising appointment to discuss program scheduling.
Registering for Courses
MBA students are automatically enrolled with their cohort in the MBA with a Global Perspective program each semester. Students who are pursuing a certificate or a concentration area need to Self-Service register for only the certificate or concentration courses as noted in the graduate catalog. Graduate certificates and concentrations in business are offered in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Finance and Global Business Diplomacy. Please see course listing offerings on the Registrar’s Web site to register for certificate and concentration courses.
MyArcadia (http://my.arcadia.edu) is the campus portal Web site, accessible only to current students, faculty and staff. Your username is your first initial followed by your last name (lowercase with no spaces). Your password is your last name followed by the last four digits of your SSN. If you have difficulty logging into MyArcadia, contact IT User Support at email@example.com or 215-572-2898. Students’ accounts are active 24-48 hours after admission deposit is received.
Getting Around Campus
Class meeting days and times
Cohort classes meet on their assigned day 5:30-10 p.m. Cohorts are assigned a number based on the semester of entry. See your orientation invite for your cohort designation. Cohorts are given a designated day for instruction and this day remains the same for the duration of your program. Specific course dates including international experiences are given in your program course of study. You may find your program course of study by logging onto MyArcadia and accessing your program plan by cohort number in your MBA Cohort Blackboard section.
To find your room assignments for your first two classes, BA500 and BA502, access your schedule on MyArcadia through the Student Information/Self-Service link (on Tools menu, left side of screen). All remaining MBA classes are held in the Beaver College Room in the Landman Library (second floor). All students are required to present student ID to gain access to the library after 5 p.m. Please see section on obtaining student ID. Dinner is provided each week at no cost to the student. Please contact the department with any dietary restrictions or needs.
Photo ID Cards
Every Arcadia student needs a photo ID card. You will be required to present your ID to gain access to campus buildings. Please go to the Public Safety Office to have your picture taken and to obtain your student ID. The Public Safety Office is located in Dilworth Hall on the lower level (view campus map).
A hangtag is required for all vehicles to park in the designated lots; however, there is no fee for parking for MBA students. Bring your vehicle registration card to the Public Safety Office to obtain the hangtag. Parking is available at any location designated as Student Parking (view parking map).
International Travel Experiences
There are two international business experiences built into the curriculum of the MBA with a Global Perspective program. Students are required to spend one week studying in a developed economy and one week studying in an emerging economy. The international business experience itinerary includes site business visits to meet with “C” level management to discuss various business issues and challenges facing companies operating within global economies. Groups will receive presentations, Q&A and case analysis from management representatives of multinational companies and companies of the country origin. Each itinerary includes overview and meetings from various governmental agencies. The experience also includes cultural visits for the group and time to explore the country on own and conduct personal research opportunities. International experiences are for student participation only and students are unable to have guests to accompany them during their travel.
Students must successfully complete four courses prior to their first travel. Travel dates are provided in the program course of study. A trip orientation is held six weeks prior to travel. The travel expenses that are provided through tuition to the student include group international airfare, air taxes and fuel surcharges, group airport transfers in the destination city, double occupancy accommodations, group transportation for all activities listed in the itinerary, meals as noted in the itinerary, admission and entrance fees for cultural excursions listed on the itinerary, and student supplemental health insurance with EIIA during the travel period. Incidental expenses associated with travel that are not covered by the tuition are the responsibility of the student.
All students are required to have a current and valid passport/visa. Dependent upon the origin of passport and the international destination, students may or may not be required to obtain a visa. If a visa is required to enter the destination country, students are responsible for obtaining and payment of fees associated with necessary visas. Students are provided adequate time to procure a visa prior to trip departure. Students are required to submit proof of a valid passport by sending a copy of their valid passport to the MBA program administration at the completion of BA502.
Students are responsible for any changes incurred by the University in the event they are unable to participate in scheduled international business experiences.
Textbook information is updated each semester in the MBA Cohort Blackboard section. MBA textbooks are not available through the campus bookstore. Students typically purchase the textbooks through internet Web sites. Please allow adequate time for online delivery.

Conditional Admission Requirements
Students who are admitted conditionally are closely monitored by the program administration. In addition to fulfilling program-specific requirements, they must successfully complete two business fundamental courses—BA500 and BA502—prior to the commencement of the first core MBA course for a particular cohort. The program administration reserves the right to recommend and/or require additional coursework in accounting, economics, finance, and quantitative analysis where an applicant’s background is deemed insufficient in these core business foundations.
