Arcadia University offers a wide range of academic support services, including subject tutoring and study skills appropriate for students' learning styles and within the learning context. Personal attention is a hallmark of the services we provide. The Office of Academic Development is the home of the Learning Resource Network of peer tutoring, the LRN Lab and Lounge. The Office of Academic Development also provides services and coordinates academic accommodations for students with disabilities.
The Learning Resource Network
The Learning Resource Network (LRN) (formerly the Education Enhancement Center) provides academic support services to all Arcadia University undergraduates. We offer both one-to-one peer tutoring and drop-in tutoring in attempts to provide assistance that is convenient for students. We also organize study groups and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) for designated courses.
The clients of the Learning Resource Network are as diverse as the Arcadia community. Traditional undergraduates, continuing education, part-time and full-time students will all find a variety of academic services available to them. Students representing every major utilize our services. In addition, the Director of Academic Development and Peer Study Assistants can meet with students who may have special concerns regarding learning styles, reading and study strategies, or other academic skill-building.
In line with the Arcadia Promise, we strive to provide a unique learning environment for students. In close conjunction with other campus providers of academic support, such as the Writing Center and the Computer Science/Math Lab, the aim of the Learning Resource Network is to afford students the academic support that suits them best and most effectively promotes their academic achievement. Moreover, our professional staff and peer tutors can work an the issues that concern international students, students of color, and students with disabilities.
Current students who would like more information about academic support and/or disability-related services may go to the LRN organization in MyArcadia.
