Community-Based Work-Study

Community-based work-study offers an opportunity for professional development outside of the classroom—and for you to make a meaningful impact on organizations that are essential to our community.

Through this program, you will: 

  • Support our local community while earning an income through work-study.
  • Be placed in sites like Glenside Elementary School, Cheltenham Center for the Arts, Jenkintown Food Cupboard, Urban Youth Kings & Queens, and more.
  • Build your resume with hands-on, off-campus experience.

The pay rate for community-based work-study starts at $10 per hour. Work-study eligibility is preferred.

Americorps Next Step Program

Students who are interested in a larger commitment to Community work, leadership and mentorship might qualify for AmeriCorps Next Steps. Students who participate in this program will mentor first year students and will receive additional financial benefits from AmeriCorp including an Education Award of $1342.86.
