If I’m not at the barn, you can find me studying with a HUGE cup of coffee. I am a peer mentor, tutor and the secretary of Arcadia University’s Equestrian Team. This photo was taken during my time studying abroad with the opportunity I received from Arcadia from being awarded the Vira I. Heinz scholarship. I am a very busy woman, but that’s the best part of Arcadia. Saddle up to get a glimpse of the many opportunities and activities that Arcadia has to offer!

Major: Business Administration

Hello! I am a junior business administration major with a concentration in management here at Arcadia. I am a part of STAMP and Because Arcadia here on campus and love being involved in both. I really enjoy blogging as a way to express myself and share experiences to hopefully help other people. I really enjoy traveling, shopping, and writing. I look forward to writing about some experiences abroad as well as here in Glenside and hope to give people curious about college life a little insight!

Major: Media and Communication
Minors: English, Marketing

If I’m not playing with my cat, Wisteria, or listening to Elton John, you can find me sitting in my apartment with my nose in a book. In my work as a Student Government Organization (SGO) senator, I have made a lot of amazing connections on campus and have had many great experiences. I cannot wait to share my Arcadia stories with you!

Major: English (Creative Writing)
Hometown: Lansdale, Pa
Besides my obvious passion for writing, I love to travel, do makeup, and make jewelry! I am constantly all around Arcadia and Glenside always in clubs and finding new things to do. I’ve already made so many new connections here in just my first semester and I can’t wait for everything to come.

Corin DeStefano '27
Major: Studio Art & Art Education
Hometown: Bedminster, N.J.
In 11th grade, I won a class award for being a “Renaissance Man.” It’s true that my favorite hobbies are the arts; drawing, painting, acting, singing, and more. However, I also enjoy photography, listening to and playing music, going to the gym, playing with any of my 11 pets, watching animated movies, and plenty others. I have a lot to write about – and as an author, instead of ever talking at you, I hope to talk with you instead.

"Nothing is impossible to he who will try." - Alexander The Great
These words are the words that I live by. I am an aspiring author studying English and literature at Arcadia. I've been doing alot of other things though--because Arcadia has a lot to offer. Pottery is one of the other things that I spend my time on, I find it to be relaxing and artistic even in failure. I think that life creates art innately, but we humans have to become versed within the creation of art--so that is why I devote myself to achieving that.

Major: Scientific Illustration (Pre-Med)
Hometown: Lancaster, Pa.
Aside from running around campus as a member of cross country and track and field, you can find me in the studio painting or drawing, in a lab, or taking care of my plants. I drink an alarming amount of coffee and am outside anytime the sun is shining. I love getting to share with you all about my experiences and what makes Arcadia home!

Dominique Johnson ’24M
Major: Master's in Creative Writing
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
I am a North Philadelphia native and a graduate of The Community College of Philadelphia and Temple University. Currently, I am a graduate student in Arcadia's Master of Creative Writing Program. I'm an avid Walking Dead fan and former journalist who enjoys writing young adult fiction. It's what I grew up on. I've always wanted to attend Arcadia for creative writing, and I'm ecstatic that I'm here and can't wait to begin writing about my time at the university.

Justin Peccina '24
Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
Hey! My name is Justin and I am a senior Business Administration major. On campus, I am one of the student presidents of our Honors program, and I also work as a consultant in the Writing Center. I spend a lot of my days on campus, especially in the Chat and in Brubaker, but when I'm in my apartment, I'm usually playing a video game or watching reality TV. Being an Arcadia student for four years now has really shaped who I am as a person, and I hope that I can share some of my favorite parts of campus through my work with Because Arcadia!

I’m in love with all forms of creativity, whether that be acting and writing, or fashion and photography. I’m also on the esports Valorant team and work as an esports arena attendant in addition to writing for Because Arcadia! I am also a big fan of Marvel and love Percy Jackson (very excited for the tv series). I’m super excited to share my experiences with you all!

I have always been in love with any way to express myself. I love supporting all of my friends in the amazing arts programs that we have. I also love exploring in any kind of way. That is why I am so excited to share my study abroad experience with you guys! It is very important to show off any kind of good experiences you go through so I can’t wait to be as transparent with you guys about studying away from home as possible.

Looking for a funny story or an interesting conversation? Sounds like I’m your girl! Aside from writing, I have a huge passion for comedy and different forms of media, including music, Marvel, and anime. In addition to blogging, I’m also a member of the UKnight Dance Team. I look forward to making plenty of connections while at Arcadia, whether it be through my writing or face-to-face. If you see me on campus, feel free to say hi!

Sometimes I feel like I’m a little weird, and who knows, maybe I am. But I would rather be a little weird than a little boring. But when I’m not writing super awesome blogs, I’m dabbling in activism work. I’ve worked with PBS Newshour, WHYY, Temple News, and NBC10. Alongside other publications in the city. All for the purpose of using the written medium to highlight issues in my community. So I can help strive for a better tomorrow.
