Greetings, everyone! I am Chayhok Chhor, a freshman with a passion for Healthcare Administration and a commitment to pursuing a Pre-Medicine track. I am originally from a small village named Kompongkdei in Seim Reap, a city known for its amazing temples and rich cultural tapestry. My viewpoint has been profoundly impacted by Siem Reap’s complex traditions and historical importance, which have instilled in me a genuine awareness of other cultures and the interconnection of global communities. I am excited to share my unique experiences as an international student as I start my time in university.

If I’m not playing with my cat, Wisteria, or listening to Elton John, you can find me sitting in my apartment with my nose in a book. In my work as a Student Government Organization (SGO) senator, I have made a lot of amazing connections on campus and have had many great experiences. I cannot wait to share my Arcadia stories with you!

Besides my obvious passion for writing, I love to travel, do makeup, and make jewelry! I am constantly all around Arcadia and Glenside always in clubs and finding new things to do. I’ve already made so many new connections here in just my first semester and I can’t wait for everything to come.

In 11th grade, I won a class award for being a “Renaissance Man.” It’s true that my favorite hobbies are the arts; drawing, painting, acting, singing, and more. However, I also enjoy photography, listening to and playing music, going to the gym, playing with any of my 11 pets, watching animated movies, and plenty others. I have a lot to write about – and as an author, instead of ever talking at you, I hope to talk with you instead.

"Nothing is impossible to he who will try." - Alexander The Great
These words are the words that I live by. I am an aspiring author studying English and literature at Arcadia. I've been doing a lot of other things though--because Arcadia has a lot to offer. Pottery is one of the other things that I spend my time on, I find it to be relaxing and artistic even in failure. I think that life creates art innately, but we humans have to become versed within the creation of art--so that is why I devote myself to achieving that.

Aside from running around campus as a member of cross country and track and field, you can find me in the studio painting or drawing, in a lab, or taking care of my plants. I drink an alarming amount of coffee and am outside anytime the sun is shining. I love getting to share with you all about my experiences and what makes Arcadia home!

I think that traveling is one of the most amazing things this world has to offer. Wherever I am, you can find me playing games with my friends, making videos, listening to music, or out somewhere to eat. One of my favorite things to do is walking around big cities. I am fascinated by immersing myself around all different kinds of people and places. I’m excited to share my experiences from Arcadia with you in unique ways.
Justin Peccina ’24
Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
Hey! My name is Justin and I am a senior Business Administration major. On campus, I am one of the student presidents of our Honors program, and I also work as a consultant in the Writing Center. I spend a lot of my days on campus, especially in the Chat and in Brubaker, but when I'm in my apartment, I'm usually playing a video game or watching reality TV. Being an Arcadia student for four years now has really shaped who I am as a person, and I hope that I can share some of my favorite parts of campus through my work with Because Arcadia!

That is why I am so excited to share my study abroad experience with you guys! It is very important to show off any kind of good experiences you go through so I can’t wait to be as transparent with you guys about studying away from home as possible.

Sometimes I feel like I’m a little weird, and who knows, maybe I am. But I would rather be a little weird than a little boring. But when I’m not writing super awesome blogs, I’m dabbling in activism work. I’ve worked with PBS Newshour, WHYY, Temple News, and NBC10. Alongside other publications in the city. All for the purpose of using the written medium to highlight issues in my community. So I can help strive for a better tomorrow.
