Become a leader in math education by gaining a deeper understanding of curriculum development and assessment for math at all levels. Arcadia’s MEd in Math Education provides you with a deep knowledge of the latest practices in teaching mathematics. Interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary approaches are used to support rich mathematical investigations and to implement challenging curricular structures that exceed state and local standards and objectives.
Required Course
This Seminar/Workshop emphasizes the use of a variety of instructional materials in the teaching of mathematics, grades K–8, including manipulatives, calculators, and other non-textbook resources.
Required Course
This course focuses on teaching mathematics through a problem-solving approach and with connections among topics. Emphasis is on recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Pennsylvania has signed the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement that provides for acceptance of state-approved educator preparation programs between certain states to facilitate educator mobility.
Arcadia University School of Education is an approved provider of educational programs leading to Pennsylvania Department of Education Professional Certification and offers certification at the undergraduate and post baccalaureate (graduate) levels. Arcadia University has not determined if our curriculum meets the requirements for teacher certification in other states or US territories.
