The minor in Political Science supplements many major programs, especially International Studies, Media and Communications, Healthcare Administration, and Business, by enabling students to understand how power and political processes operate and by strengthening oral and written communication skills. Students, regardless of major, can complete the Law and Public Policy minor and/or a minor in Political Science.
Six or more courses, totaling at least 24 credits, are required, including no more than two courses at the 100 level and at least one course at the 300 level.
Elective Course
Explore how countries interact, cooperate, and compete on the world stage. This course introduces key concepts in global politics including international law, security, human rights, and political economy. You’ll study major world events and debate current international issues.
Elective Course
Trace the evolution of American political ideas from the founding to today. You’ll explore themes like democracy, identity, religion, and ideology through key writings and debates that have shaped U.S. political life.
