On Monday, Aug. 28, Arcadia first-year and transfer students will help local and regional organizations throughout Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Bucks counties during the 26th annual Day of Service.
A staple of Fall Orientation, Day of Service introduces hundreds of new students to Glenside and the surrounding area through community service projects. This year, students will volunteer at more than 20 locations, such as helping with beautification at Elmwood Park Zoo, sorting baby clothing at The Baby Bureau, cleaning and preparing classrooms at New Life Nursery School, and packing food donations at Philabundance.
In total, Arcadia students donate over 1,000 hours of community service each year through this event alone, which is organized by the University’s Community and Civic Engagement Center.
