Grad Knight to Know: Jenisha Khadka ’27MMS Kickstarts Career of Service With National Health Service Corps Scholarship
Jenisha Khadka ’27MMS, of Arcadia’s Physician Assistant (PA) program, has been awarded a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholarship, a federal program that supports students committed to providing care in communities with limited access to healthcare.
As an NHSC Scholar, Khadka will complete a two-year service commitment at an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area, or a location that lacks sufficient primary medical, dental, or mental health providers to serve its population’s needs, after graduation.
“Receiving this scholarship is both an honor and a relief,” she said. “It allows me to focus entirely on my education and growth as a future PA without the burden of financial stress. More importantly, it reinforces my commitment to serving communities that need care the most.”
In the long term, she plans to work in primary care and focus on improving access to essential health services in underserved communities, which directly aligns with the NHSC scholarship’s mission.
“Through the NHSC, I hope to strengthen my clinical skills, deepen my cultural understanding, and make a meaningful impact in community health,” Khadka said. “I want to build lifelong connections with my patients and continue a career rooted in service.”
Khadka was born and raised in Nepal, later lived in Connecticut, and her journey has now led her to Arcadia’s Christiana, Del., campus.
“I chose Arcadia for its strong commitment to academic excellence, hands-on clinical training, and supportive learning environment,” she explained. “The program’s emphasis on compassion, service, and patient-centered care aligns perfectly with my personal mission as a future healthcare provider.”
When she’s not in class, Khadka enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring local restaurants, volunteering, and hiking.
