In his address to graduates of the Class of 2021, President Nair used lyrics from Lil Baby's "Bigger Picture" to highlight three things the Class taught him over the last year: relationships and connections are critical; to always be prepared for the unknown and unexpected; and that there’s always opportunities to make radical changes in inequitable systems and thinking.
The 2020 President’s Report details the complexities and challenges we faced over the past year, as well as the accomplishments and progress we made in FY20. The report also outlines how justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, coupled with our Adaptive Strategy ARCADIA2025, will chart our path forward as we create a university for the future.
At the installation ceremony on Oct. 13, 2018, Dr. Nair delivered his inaugural address to the Arcadia community, highlighting challenges facing liberal arts education, how to meet the educational needs of al students, and redefining what higher education means.
From June 7 to 12, President Nair released the first video of his 8:46 Reflections, a series of videos totaling 8 minutes and 46 seconds that attempt to "open up the seemingly impossible conversations related to anti-Black racism." The raw and candid series explored how colleges can shift the paradigm in combating racism, what it means to be anti-racist, how those with white privilege can show up for racial justice, and how we can keep the momentum going to create lasting change.
