What have you been involved in at Arcadia outside of your classes?
I have been a member of Arcadia’s softball team throughout my time at the University.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date?
My proudest accomplishment has been being a recipient of the Horace C. Woodland Memorial Award at Honors Convocation while actively student-teaching at Cheltenham Elementary and balancing being a student-athlete.
What is a challenge you’ve had to overcome to get to this point?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing being an in-season student-athlete while also student teaching five days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It was difficult figuring out how to accommodate both responsibilities while also making time for myself, but relying on my support system and reaching out to the right people allowed me to be successful through it all.
What has been your favorite memory at Arcadia?
My favorite part of Arcadia has been meeting amazing people and making lifelong friends. I have built such meaningful relationships with the athletic staff, including trainers and strength coaches, as well as my teammates and classmates, and those relationships made these four years so enjoyable. I also want to give an honorary shoutout to one of the best professors I had the privilege to meet, Kathy Trainor. She taught me so many life lessons that I will carry with me into the future as I have my own classroom. She made a huge impact on me not only as a future educator but also as a person, and I miss her dearly.
What are some things you’re hoping to do after graduating?
I am currently in the early-entry program at Arcadia for Applied Behavior Analysis. I plan to continue and complete my graduate degree, become a BCBA, and enter that field. I also hope to stay involved in the sports world and continue giving back to the sport of softball for everything it has given me throughout my life.
