Why is it called “The Hive”?
The name reflects the energy of the Honors community. Rather than a traditional lounge, The Hive represents a space full of “busy bees,” students actively learning, creating, and engaging with one another. The theme has become a defining part of the space’s identity and culture.
The Hive also serves as the central location for many Honors Program traditions and student-led events, including film screenings, speaker series, community engagement initiatives, and social gatherings. It is both a workspace and a home base, supporting the academic, creative, and social life of the Honors community.
