The care provided by the nurse practitioner or physician during regular office hours in Student Health Services (SHS) is free for all full-time undergraduate and graduate students who meet the health requirements (proof of health insurance, completed health history form, and mandatory immunizations). Examples of some services for which fees will be charged include: Allergy Injections, Immunizations, Prescription Medications, Laboratory Testing, Physical Exams, Annual Gynecological Exams, and Work Physicals.
Fees must be paid at time of service by cash, check, or student ID charge. Credit card payments are not accepted. A receipt is provided for all transactions.
What are the insurance requirements for students?
All full-time undergraduate and graduate students are required to provide verification of health insurance coverage. This verification must be renewed annually. Student Health Services has information for affordable insurance if the student is not already covered under another plan, or if additional insurance is desired.
Students with prescription plans are encouraged to submit a copy of both sides of their card with the complete health record. In times of illness, this will expedite obtaining medication for the student.
Who provides services to the students?
Student Health Services is staffed by Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNP’s). There are MD’s available on a limited basis from Chestnut Hill Health System. The physicians are certified in Family Practice.
How confidential are the services? Will my parents know why I am billed?
All services provided by Student Health Services are strictly confidential. Information is not released to parents without written permission, unless the student is in critical condition or there is a threat to self or others.
