Fall Semester
Fall Orientation
Fall Orientation introduces new students to life at Arcadia University! Incoming Knights meet their Student Experience Leaders (SELs) and classmates while connecting with campus partners such as Student Success, Financial Aid, Housing, and Academic Affairs. Students explore Arcadia’s technology, learn about academics and majors, discover involvement opportunities, and begin building a sense of belonging within the Arcadia community.
Fall Welcome Week
Held at the start of the fall semester, Fall Welcome Week celebrates the return to campus and invites students to reconnect, get involved, and kick off the academic year. A variety of events and activities help students build community, explore campus resources, and settle into the semester.
Day of Service
The Fall Day of Service provides first-year and transfer students with an early-semester opportunity to engage in meaningful community service. Through volunteer projects and local partnerships, students connect with the surrounding community while living Arcadia’s commitment to service and civic engagement.

Rock the Knight
Rock the Knight is a signature beginning-of-semester celebration that brings the Arcadia community together in a spirit of pride and connection. The event begins with the Activities and Resource Fair on the Walk of Pride, where students explore student organizations, clubs, and support services. Led by University leadership, students, faculty, and staff then process down Easton Road into Downtown Glenside to enjoy live music, food trucks, and festivities at the Glenside Food Truck Festival.

Homecoming & Family Weekend
Homecoming & Family Weekend is a major fall tradition that welcomes families, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to campus. The weekend features spirited events, opportunities to reconnect, and celebrations that highlight Arcadia pride and lifelong Knight connections.
Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat invites students, staff, and local families to campus for a festive and family-friendly Halloween celebration. Decorated vehicle trunks become candy stops, creating a safe, joyful event supported by student organizations and Staff Council that strengthens campus and community bonds.
Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner
The Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner is a meaningful campus tradition that raises awareness of food insecurity while supporting local hunger relief efforts. Students, faculty, staff, and guests share a simple meal and reflect on the impact of hunger, reinforcing Arcadia’s values of empathy, service, and social responsibility.
Home Away From Home Thanksgiving Dinner
Home Away From Home Thanksgiving Dinner offers a welcoming holiday experience for students, faculty, and staff who remain on campus during the break. With comforting food, games, and conversation, the event fosters connection and ensures everyone feels supported during the season of gratitude.
First Generation Celebration
The First Generation Celebration honors students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are the first in their families to attend college. This inclusive event recognizes achievements, shares stories, and highlights resources that support first-generation success at Arcadia.

Get Lit
Get Lit is a late-fall tradition designed to help students relax and recharge before finals. Typically hosted in Spruance Gallery, the celebration features the ceremonial lighting of the Spruance Fine Arts Center, free food and hot drinks, raffles, giveaways, and creative activities—bringing the community together one last time before the semester ends.

Spring Semester
Spring Orientation
Spring Orientation includes summer orientation programs and Preview travel courses for incoming students. These experiences introduce new Knights to Arcadia’s academic culture, global perspective, and supportive community before the start of the fall semester.
Semester Kick-Off
The Spring Semester Kick-Off welcomes students back to campus and sets the tone for the new term. This event helps students reconnect with friends, engage with campus life, and start the semester feeling energized and supported.
Arcade-ia
New semester? Game on! Arcade-ia is Arcadia University’s welcome-back event in the Great Room, featuring arcade, carnival, and VR games. It’s a fun way to kick off the semester and connect with friends old and new.
Day of Service
The Spring Day of Service offers students another opportunity to engage in volunteer work and community partnerships. Through hands-on service, students continue Arcadia’s tradition of civic engagement and social impact.

Scarlet & Grey Day
Scarlet & Grey Day is Arcadia University’s signature admitted student experience. This celebratory day is designed to help future Knights envision themselves on campus. Current students are invited to join in the celebration and welcome these newest Knights during a lively food truck lunch on Haber Green.
Late Knight Breakfast
Late Knight Breakfast is a beloved Arcadia tradition that gives students a late-night break during the semester. Faculty and staff serve free breakfast favorites, creating a relaxed, supportive atmosphere that reflects Arcadia’s care for students beyond the classroom.
Global Expo
Global Expo showcases student learning from Preview travel courses and global education experiences. Through presentations and projects, students highlight the impact of international learning and Arcadia’s strong commitment to global engagement.
SGO Gala
The SGO Gala is a formal spring tradition hosted by the Student Government Organization. The event offers students an elegant evening to celebrate the year, connect with peers, and enjoy community as the academic year comes to a close.
Woodstock Festival
Inspired by the iconic 1960s festival, Arcadia’s Woodstock Festival is one of the largest campus celebrations of the year. Featuring live music, food, and interactive activities, the outdoor event brings the community together to relax, connect, and celebrate student life.
Honors Convocation
Honors Convocation is a formal ceremony recognizing students for outstanding academic achievement. The event celebrates excellence across disciplines and honors students’ dedication to scholarship and learning.

Commencement
Commencement ceremonies celebrate Arcadia graduates as they complete their degrees alongside faculty, family, and friends. Held in mid to late May, Commencement marks an important milestone and the beginning of the next chapter for Arcadia Knights.
