Faculty, Staff, and Alumni

The Class of 2021 is celebrating Commencement, the culmination of their time at Arcadia University. Celebrating with faculty and staff who have meant so much to them helps make the ceremony even more memorable for our students. Your time, talent, and energy is greatly appreciated as we offer our graduates a memorable and celebratory Commencement.

The schedule of events can be found here. We will celebrate the Class of 2021 with six in-person Commencement ceremonies on Haber Green, grouped by degrees and programs, so students can celebrate alongside their classmates. Each graduate can bring up to four guests to their scheduled ceremony.   The ceremonies have been timed to include chair cleaning and setup between each event, and will adhere to the University’s health and safety guidelines and protocols. All attendees must wear a mask and remain socially distanced in their seat.

This ceremony will adhere to all health and safety protocols set forth by the Arcadia University Health and Safety plan. All attendees must wear a mask and remain socially distanced in their seat during the ceremony.

Faculty awards being presented include the Lloyd M. Abernethy Outstanding Service Award on Thursday, May 20, and the Professor of the Year award on Friday, May 21.

Participate in Commencement:

Attend the ceremony
Arcadia is excited to be able to add a processional o our Commencement Ceremonies this year. Faculty and staff should plan to wear their regalia if they want to participate in the procession. Contact Commencement@arcadia.edu if you need regalia. All planning to process should arrive 15 minutes before each ceremony. If faculty and staff plan to be part of the procession into the ceremony, there will be clear signs to gather in front of the Commons.  Staff and faculty should dress comfortably if they plan on remaining for the ceremony.

There will be an exclusive, socially distanced seating section for faculty and staff. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend as a unit or department, and may select a space outside of the grid on the Green to sit, whether up on the Walk of Pride or off to the side. Faculty and staff who are interested in attending the ceremony should register at Commencement@arcadia.edu.

Volunteer on-campus for a ceremony
With six ceremonies over two days, volunteers are integral to a successful graduate experience. Volunteers should have received their roles and arrival times by email. If you have not, please contact Commencement@arcadia.edu.

Stand in the Honor Guard on the Walk of Pride
After each ceremony, graduates will be directed to exit down the Walk of Pride to form a safely distanced Honor Guard—a time-honored tradition at Arcadia University. All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the end of each ceremony to cheer on our graduates, who will then exit campus in their vehicles through a drive-thru celebration led by Alumni Relations.

Faculty and staff who would like only to participate in the Honor Guard should plan to arrive one hour after the respective ceremony begins and use the Castle entrance to park in LOT A (turn left when you enter campus), before heading to the Walk of Pride:
