About Our Office
The Office of Access, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OAEDI) oversees, supports, and advances equity and inclusion efforts that align with the Arcadia 2025 Adaptive Strategy. In collaboration with other divisions, departments, and offices, we seek to identify and disrupt systemic barriers to inclusivity and belonging, and create an environment in which all members of the Arcadia community feel valued and that their perspectives matter.
Mission
OAEDI’s mission is to help lead the creation of equitable and inclusive learning and the development of a working community in which every person can thrive; to amplify the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI); and to spearhead the University’s Combating Anti-Black Racism (CABR) efforts. You can read the University’s latest CABR report here.
Vision
Our vision is to create sustainable change to combat systemic racism at Arcadia University and throughout the world.
What We Do and How We Work
Our work takes many forms, from building infrastructure to facilitate and maintain sustainable AEDI work to cultivating partnerships across campus to increase the capacity for everyone to engage in AEDI work. As part of an institution of higher learning, we use scholarship and evidence-based practices in providing AEDI leadership, and we regularly assess our work to make data-informed decisions in shaping policies and practices.
Ultimately, we engage in efforts to ensure AEDI principles are embedded in the mission, vision, and policies of the University:
- Partner with divisions and departments to advance AEDI efforts
- Establish AEDI liaisons program
- Coordinate campus-wide AEDI efforts
- Support staff advisory and resource groups
- Provide cultural programming and leadership training
- Institutionalize support for affinity student groups and organizations
- Highlight progress made in AEDI efforts across campus

Spiritual Life on Campus
Students are encouraged to celebrate their faith by joining religious and faith-based organizations on campus, many of which are supported as student organizations (Arcadia Christian Fellowship, Newman Club, Hillel (currently inactive but students are encouraged to learn more through the Philly Hillel resource), Jewish Life, and Muslim Student Association). Should your religion or faith not yet be represented by an existing organization, you may seek to establish one by contacting Campus Life.
