I wanted to study abroad in order to add more context to my major and to try and understand a perspective on politics and humanity beyond an American one. While I was in Italy, I worked at a refugee center that helped to transition refugees to full autonomy within the Italian state, and the people and experiences I had going there nearly every day are things that I will always remember.
