The world’s longest running musical is an allegorical story loosely based on The Romancers by Edmond Rostand. The Fantasticks is a whimsical and poetic musical that tells the allegorical story of two young lovers, Matt and Luisa, whose fathers trick them into falling in love by pretending to feud. As they experience the magic of romance, they are eventually led from the dreamy moonlight into the harsh realities of life, where their relationship is tested by heartbreak, betrayal, and self-discovery.
