Bhukhanwala, Dean and Troyer Present at the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting
Dr. Foram Bhukhanwala and Dr. Kim Dean of the School of Education worked with recent graduate Maryellen Troyer to present a paper at the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
Their paper, “Beyond the Student Teaching Seminar: Examining Transformative Learning through Arts-Based Approaches” examined how critical performance pedagogies—such as Boal’s Theater of the Oppressed—support pre-service teachers in forming new frames of references through the processes of defining, redefining, and imagining new possibilities.
