Dr. Loury Recognized Honored for Community Involvement by Youth Coalition

Dr. Loury presents during Social Justice Week at Arcadia.

Dr. Doreen Loury, assistant professor of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice, is this year’s recipient of the Northwest CommUnity Coalition for Youth (NCCY) Good Neighbor Award.  She will be recognized for her work with young adults to improve educational opportunities and learning resources at a reception on June 9. The award recognizes individuals who have worked to forward the NCCY mission of improving the community to make a safer environment for children.

Dr. Loury also will be the keynote speaker at the Black Women Read: Knowledge Is Power Symposium on June 11, where she will talk about the educational progression of African American women and girls.
