Office of the Provost: Center for the Study of Race Design Sessions

By Caitlin T. Burns | September 29, 2020
As part of President Nair’s

Anti-Black racism initiatives

, we are establishing a Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity. In order to create a Center that best serves the needs of Arcadia’s Community, we’d like to invite you to a Design Session to hear your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions.

Centers like these vary greatly in their mission and goals. Some guidelines for Arcadia’s Center include:

  • Center would be faculty-centered, rather than student-centered
  • It would support scholarship, faculty, development, and curricular development
  • It would not sponsor diversity programs, events, or lectures unless for an academic  purpose
  • Its mission would be grounded in liberal arts and sciences and include graduates and professionals in the community.

Please use this form to sign up for a time. A calendar invite and Zoom information will be sent to you. Since we are limiting attendance to 45 number of people, please let us know if you cannot attend so we may offer your spot to another community member.

If you cannot attend any session, the form allows you to submit ideas and suggestions for us to take into consideration.
