MSN highlighted research by Dr. Christina Brown, assistant professor of Psychology, on the effects pets have on humans when they feel socially rejected. Dr. Brown, whose study in collaboration with researchers at Miami University in Ohio was published in March by online multidisciplinary journal Anthrozoös, found that humans who think about their pets after being socially rejected felt less depressed.
