On Monday, October 9th, Arcadia University’s Master of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS) first and second-year students visited the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) in Eagleville, PA alongside program director, Dr. Fabio Oldoni, and professor Ed Schikel. During their visit, they learned how a routine autopsy is performed, completed a virtual autopsy, and toured the MCCO facilities.

Thanks to Dr. Oldoni’s and Professor Schikel’s coordination with the MCCO, eager MSFS students had the chance to view the typical autopsy room set-up, the coolers for storage, and the evidence storage rooms. This visit was an incredibly exciting educational opportunity for the MSFS students, giving them an additional glimpse into the forensic pathology and autopsy realm, and providing them with the opportunity to engage with and learn from real-world practicing forensic experts.
