Why Arcadia?
I chose Arcadia because it felt like a perfect fit. My first interaction with Arcadia was the DOVE overnight event. When I first walked in I felt so nervous and scared, I was ready to leave. Within 30 minutes of me being there though, I was laughing with people and making friends. I feel a sense of community and belonging at Arcadia. I’m treated like a person rather than a number like some other bigger institutions. This is what drew me to Arcadia.
What are you most looking forward to about your time here?
One of the things I’m looking forward to the most at Arcadia is definitely traveling. Being born in London while my dad was living in America, I’ve spent half of my life in the Airport and I love it. So I’m super excited that I have the opportunity to travel while I’m here at Arcadia and see the world beyond London and America.
What do you hope to accomplish during your time here?
During my time at Arcadia I hope to truly find out who Roseanna is. I feel like all of my life I’ve been masking myself to fit in with the different environments I have been in, but I don’t think I have been just me. I’m hoping while at Arcadia I can accomplish that and truly figure out who Roseanna Cross is. Additionally, I want to see the world through a bigger lens, whether that be through my travels during my time here or the Civic Scholars program. I want to see and be part of something bigger than me.
