Located in the Lower Level of the Landman Library (and online), the Writing Center offers assistance for students with any written assignment, for any course/discipline and at any stage of the writing process. Consultants can help with understanding assignments, brainstorming paper ideas, organization, clarity, documenting final drafts, and much more. Consultants are trained in critical reading, writing and analysis, and we provide structured, collaborative conversations to help you understand your own writing process more fully.

The Writing Center offers three types of appointments: face-to-face in the Landman Library (our most popular), synchronous online sessions through Zoom, and asynchronous online sessions through Google Docs. The Writing Center is typically open Monday through Friday during posted hours. Though drop-in consultations are usually possible, at busy times of the semester it is best to make an appointment.

To make an appointment for any of the services above, head to our Scheduling System in Accudemia. (Note: You must be signed-in to PortalGuard.) Students may also contact the Writing Center through email at, or by calling 215-572-4051.

Students interested in becoming paid consultants should contact the Director of the Writing Center for prerequisites, or apply to the Writing Center's open positions through Handshake.
