October is upon us—the time for apples, pumpkins and great fall root vegetables. October is also the time for a jam-packed month of events we’d like to share with you in the Dining Hall, The Chat, and Easton Café. We hope you can stop by and enjoy them.

Dining Services will be celebrating Oktoberfest on Monday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bravo Station. Diners can sample some wursts, spatzel and other authentic German fare.

We’ll also be having our first steakhouse dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Guests will be able to enjoy their choice of steak or fried shrimp (one entrée per person) with classic steakhouse accompaniments, including chopped salad, creamed spinach, baked potatoes, freshly baked breads and more.

Our most popular event, Parkhurst Traveling Chefs, will be back on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Stop by to sample sushi, shrimp Creole, Cuban ham sandwich, and beef with vegetable.

The Dining Hall also will be offering assorted fall desserts all month, pink frosted cookies and cupcakes in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month the week of Monday, Oct. 18, and a spooky Halloween luncheon on Oct. 29.

Phillies Playoffs are almost here. The Chat will be featuring wing and Wawa specials each Phillies playoff game. Also, check out our special Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness Desserts.

Hot apple cider is back at Easton Café. Stop by and enjoy a cup along with the cupcake of the week. October’s feature cupcake flavors are carrot, lemon blueberry and “brain.”

We hope you enjoy the events and specials.
