Adjunct Psychology Professor Barbara Micucci received the Arcadia University Adjunct Faculty Award, given for the 22st time in the University’s history at Honors Convocation this past Spring.

The award is given to that part-time instructor whom students and faculty judge to be an exemplary teacher and outstanding contributor to the Arcadia community.

“Since the fall semester of 2003, Professor Micucci has established herself as an exceptional addition to not only our faculty, but to the ongoing development and evolution of our counseling program through her additional role of coordinator of our school counseling program.

Her Program Director points out that, “she has revolutionized and revitalized our school counseling program from the moment she began teaching in our department… to meet the new [and] (ever changing) Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements [such as recently developing] a brand new school counseling course, which greatly improved our program yet again.” In addition, in 2010, Professor Micucci received the prestigious School Counselor of the Year Award from the American School Counselor Association, out of 100,000 counselors nationally.

This year’s Adjunct Faculty Award Selection Committee certainly agreed with the observations and comments that Barbara Micucci, “inspires students to change the lives of others, while ultimately changing the lives of her students,” added Michael. She is a remarkable adjunct faculty member and an invaluable member of Arcadia’s graduate community.”

Micucci earned a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from Villanova University.
