Arcadia’s women’s soccer team kicked off this week’s fully loaded playoff schedule with a 5-1 victory at home over Albright College in a first-round Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament match on Monday, Nov. 4. The Knights, who improved to 15-5-0, travel to top-seeded Stevenson University for a conference semifinal match on Wednesday. They’ll hope to avenge a 1-0 loss on October 4, the lone goal being scored on a penalty kick with 56 seconds left in overtime. Recap of the women’s soccer victory.

In other playoff news, the top-seeded field hockey team (13-6, 6-1 conference) hosts fourth-seeded Messiah College in a semifinal game on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. It is first time the program has been seeded No. 1 for the conference tournament. The Knights, who defeated Messiah 1-0 earlier this year, finished the season with seven wins out of their last eight games, which included two wins against teams ranked in the top 20. With a victory, Arcadia will host the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8, against the winner of the Alvernia-Lebanon Valley match.

The third-seeded men’s soccer team (9-6-2, 4-3-1 conference) takes on second-seeded Lycoming College (14-2-3, 6-2-0) in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. in Williamsport, Pa. The Knights fell to the Warriors 2-0 on Oct. 18 at Lycoming. If Arcadia wins, they will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8.
