In less than a week, the Public Health Student Society collected over 400 pounds of food for needy families throughout the region.

From Nov. 15 to 18, the organization welcomed non-perishable donations from the Arcadia community to be donated to New Life Glenside and Seeds of Hope in Camden. On Nov. 15 and 16, student volunteers decorated personalized “snack bags” that some of the food will be distributed in. These bags had personal messages of encouragement for the families who will receive the donations.

“The Public Health Student Society was overwhelmed by the great response from the Arcadia community supporting the food drive,” said student coordinator Monica Giacomucci ’17. “The coordinated service project was an opportunity for Public Health students to deliver encouragement and hope to people in our community.”
