Dr. Colin Ireland, who directed Arcadia’s programs in Ireland with The College of Global Studies for nearly 20 years, recently published articles on medieval Irish history, cosmology, and literature.

In Peritia: Journal of the Medieval Academy of Ireland’s 27th volume, Dr. Ireland published “What Constitutes the Learning of a Sapiens? The Case of Cenn Fáelad,” an essay that examines the nature of Irish scholar Cenn Fáelad’s diversified learning as a sapiens.

Additionally, he provided a book review of Celtic Cosmology: Perspectives from Ireland and Scotland to the text.

Dr. Ireland also contributed “Vernacular Poets in Bede and Muirchú: A Comparative Study of Early Insular Cultural Histories”—a study of the treatment and presence of Gaelic and Anglo-Saxon poets in literary, cultural, and religious histories— to Traditio, an international journal dedicated to the study of ancient and medieval history, thought, and religion.
