Students to Showcase Community Art Projects on Dec. 7

By Caitlin Burns | November 28, 2017

Join students from the University Seminar “Artist in the Community” on Dec. 7 for the annual “Art of the Syllabus” exhibition. The exhibit, which showcases student artwork that was completed in conjunction with community service projects, is scheduled for 3:30 to 6 p.m at the Thrall Gallery in Spruance Fine Arts Center.

Guided by Linda Ruth Paskell ’81, ’96MEd, adjunct professor of Education, the students worked with St. Raymond’s House, Blossom Philadelphia, and Parkway NWHS For Peace & Justice to create unique art pieces. The projects included shadow boxes made from repurposed styrofoam grape crates, large scale mixed media 3D floral designs, a community painting, and pattern paintings.
