Members of the A.S.I.A. club volunteered at the 10th annual Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF), which ran from Nov. 9 through 19.

Students performed an array of tasks, including posting festival flyers around the community, creating tickets and all-access badges, collecting tickets at the theaters, directing attendees at venue lobbies, distributing ballots and tallying votes for favorite films, and assisting visitors with a Virtual Reality headset available at the event.

Volunteers also viewed films for free, sampled Asian cuisines at the opening night party, and were present for PAAFF’s closing.

PAAFF is directed by Adjunct Professor Robert Buscher, who teaches Japanese and Asian American media at Arcadia. Students in Buscher’s Japanese Cinema and Anime seminar also attended the festival.
