In October, Print Communications alumna Elishia Peterson ’09 visited her alma mater to celebrate publishing Blacklisted: 12 Men Facing Stigma and Success, a collection of 126 poems that dissect the reality of being a black man in America.

The collection was inspired by Peterson’s thesis project, “Black Roses: Five Women and Their Mental Breakthrough.” Since graduating in 2009, she has worked as a freelance writer, with nonprofit organization Tree House Books, and as a teacher in Brooklyn and Harlem, N.Y.
