Steering Committee Nominations

Officers of the Arcadia University Alumni Association’s Steering Committee are elected by members of the Association’s Leadership Council from a slate presented by the Committee on Nominations. Officers serve a three-year term and no member may serve more than two consecutive terms. One-third of the officers are elected every year.

In order to be considered eligible for consideration by the Committee on Nominations, you must be a graduate of Beaver College or Arcadia University, or be considered an honorary member of the Alumni Association. Learn more about Alumni Association membership.

You should have a strong belief and commitment to the mission of the Alumni Association and be eager and willing to accept a leadership and participatory role to further the mission of the Alumni Association and its strategic initiatives.

Your participation requires a time commitment at quarterly meetings of the Steering Committee, biannual Leadership Council meetings, and the annual Alumni Association membership meeting, as well as committee and other meetings. You will also be expected to have a presence at campus and alumni events.

Nominate a Qualified Candidate

In 2016, the Committee on Nominations is accepting nominations for the following Steering Committee positions:

  • Executive Administrator—The Executive Administrator is an officer of the Alumni Association and performs the role of a traditional board secretary for meetings and activities of the Alumni Association, Leadership Council, and Steering Committee.
  • Representative-at-Large—Three Representative-at-Larges serve on the Leadership Council and the Steering Committee as representatives of the Alumni Association membership.

Steering Committee officers and at-large members will be elected by members of the Alumni Association’s Leadership Council from a slate presented by the Committee on Nominations prior to the Alumni Association Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Elected members will serve a three-year term from June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2019.

Do you know an Arcadia or Beaver College graduate who you believe possess the leadership skills, creativity, and dedication to his/her alma mater that could benefit the Alumni Association? If so, you are encouraged to submit a nomination using the online Nomination Form no later than Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at 5 p.m. EST.

To nominate yourself and apply for the Steering Committee, you should complete the Nominee Application no later than Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at 5 p.m. EST.
