The annual Alumni Awards, hosted during Alumni Reunion Week, is a star-studded Arcadia event bringing together alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the University to celebrate and recognize the success of our extraordinary alumni.
Each year, we are proud to recognize our alumni for their outstanding achievements, all of which have made a significant contribution to their profession, their community, their class, and their alma mater.
Nominations for Alumni Awards are accepted year-round.
Reunion Awards
Class Agent Award
Awarded to a class agent in recognition of consistent dedication and service to Arcadia University on behalf of their class. This individual does not have to be in a reunion year. Recipients are nominated by their classmates in appreciation of their thoughtful and creative efforts to both bring their classmates together and encourage continuous loyalty to their alma mater.
Martha-Lee Taggart Sunderman Award
Awarded to a class celebrating a reunion milestone for the successful completion and achievement in executing multiple high-quality programming, events, and activities to engage their class, community, and current Arcadia students.
Harry G. Kuch Award
Awarded to an individual who has graduated within the last decade and is currently in reunion year. This award recognizes significant accomplishments, dedication, and outstanding achievements in their profession or community while simultaneously supporting their class reunion efforts. Recipients are nominated by their classmates in appreciation for their leadership and commitment to lifting up the young alumni profile of the university while instituting meaningful programs, events, and philanthropic opportunities.
Outstanding Achievement Award
Awarded to a class cabinet member in reunion year. This award recognizes this individual’s leadership, dedication, and service to Arcadia University on behalf of their class. Recipients are nominated by their classmates in appreciation of their ability to galvanize the class, implement strategic programming to engage the class, and spearhead meaningful philanthropic opportunities in support of and on behalf of the University and current students.

Golden Disc Award for Distinguished Achievement
Awarded to an individual who has graduated more than a decade ago, in recognition of significant accomplishments and outstanding achievements in their profession or community that greatly enhance the prestige of Arcadia University.
Golden Disc Award for Meritorious Service
Awarded to an individual who has graduated more than a decade ago, in recognition of outstanding volunteer leadership service to Arcadia University through its Alumni Association and/or Board of Trustees. Such contributions exceed all expectations of a loyal Arcadia alumna/us. Recipients must also have a record of consistent participation in The Fund for Arcadia or other philanthropic designations at the University.
Faculty and Staff Alumni Impact Award
Awarded to an Arcadia University or Beaver College graduate who is a current, retired, or emeritus member of the Arcadia faculty or staff, in recognition of their contributions to student success and their demonstration of the University’s lived values of adaptability, excellence, fearlessness, integrity, intellectual freedom, justice, respect, and responsibility. Recipients have made a significant and lasting impact on the Arcadia community that has nurtured future alumni leaders, advanced the University’s mission, and greatly enhanced the prestige of the University.

Mary Louise Armstrong Wolf Award
Awarded to an individual who has graduated more than five years ago, in memory of Mary Louise Armstrong Wolf ’36, who dedicated herself to both her University and her community. It is presented to a graduate in recognition of outstanding volunteer service to Arcadia University through Alumni Association committee work and/or work as a class agent. Recipients must also have a record of consistent participation in The Fund for Arcadia or other philanthropic designations at the University.
Young Alumni Golden Disc Award for Distinguished Achievement
Awarded to an individual who has graduated within the last decade, in recognition of significant accomplishments and outstanding achievements in their profession or community that greatly enhances the prestige of Arcadia University.
Sankofa Award for Distinguished Achievement
Awarded by the Black Alumni Association of Arcadia University
The Sankofa Award is presented to a Black/African-American graduate who exemplifies the spirit of Sankofa. Sankofa is an African word from the Akan tribe in Ghana with the literal translation “it is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.” Sankofa teaches us the paramount learning experience of recognizing the foundation of the great work that our ancestors have laid before us and using this knowledge as a tool of success to ignite and accelerate the great work of those being done today.
It is in this spirit that the BAAAU and Alumni Association presents this award in recognition of significant professional accomplishments, as well as contributions made in mentoring and social justice activism in the Black/African-American community, which greatly enhance the prestige of Arcadia University.

Presented to a graduating senior at Commencement in recognition of his/her leadership skills and engagement in the campus community. Alice Schlesinger ’61
Golden Disc for Distinguished Achievement
Alice Schlesinger is most prominently known for her 16-year-service on the New York County Supreme Court in the First Judicial District of New York. Alice launched her prolific career with the Legal Aid Society, where she became known as a passionate defense attorney and social justice advocate.

Nathan J. Hayward embodies the care, fortitude, and pride to serve as a role model to all Arcadia graduates. Currently, Nathan is the Chair of the Arcadia Alumni Business Network (AABN). Committed to growing AABN, he looks for new ways to provide leadership and direction to the Arcadia alumni community.

Reverend Victor J. Gimenez has served the Philadelphia community through social service for more than 20 years. Known for his passion for social justice, he has become a mentor to many young men, empowering them to rise above adversity.

Dan J. Rivera is committed to both the student and alumni experience. Among his many leadership positions, he is currently Chair of the Hispanic/Latinx Alumni Association, leading with the intent to creat a sense of community and fellowship for Hispanic/Latinx alumni.
Jessica Lauer Tilli ’08MEd
Outstanding Achievement Award
Jessica Lauer Tilli is an educator and a math curriculum specialist for the Philadelphia School District. She writes curriculum, provides professional learning for teachers and leaders, and is leading the charge to prioritize early mathematics in her district. She is a fierce advocate for creating access for students in Philadelphia. Recently, she was recognized by the U.S. government with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Senior Golden Disc Award
Daijah Patton is intellectually fearless, respectful, creative, bold, and so much more. As an English major, with a minor in secondary education, she demonstrated her ability to be an effective communicator, teacher, learner, and leader both in and out of the classroom.
At Arcadia, she consistently modeled leadership to her peers and positively impacted student life at Arcadia as an Orientation Leader, Enrollment Management Assistant, Student Ambassador, Because Arcadia Blogger, Secretary of the Scarlet Steppers, President of the Writer’s Bloc, and Social Action & Justice Education Mentor and Engagement Coordinator.
